Ok , after months of not having commenting on my blog (having decided that using Disqus was not compatible with my #FOSS values), I've finally decided to use native Drupal commenting, including reply notification and moderation. Seems to work quite well! Only downside: I can't easily import the hist...

@lightweight@mastodon.nzoss.nz Huh, wow. I haven’t seen a blog with in a long time so I got curious if it supports Webmentions (my favourite way for comments next to comments via social media backfeed). Turns out there is a plugin by @swentel@realize.be (who is also the author of Indigenous for Android).

This means [probably] whopping awesome support in Drupal ( included) which I was not aware of:

I’m intrigued. Mebbe I should give Drupal a try.

Webmention, ActivityPub Support! – Verily (Verily)

There are indeed a lot of similar tools but keep in mind that the tools are not designed specific for WordPress and go far beyond without an API by design. It’s like an iceberg and I understand your confusion because it was like this for me as well in the beginning. The shadowing is kinda annoying but I understand the reasons for this by now. @dshanske has more info on this topic at https://david.shanske.com/2015/01/10/post-types-post-formats-post-kinds/

Stumbled over this beautiful poem:

roses are red
violets are blue
in surveillance capitalism
poem reads you
and shows you ads
for flower shops
and tracks your clicks
and never stops
it cares not about
if privacy’s harmed
the money is green
when people are farmed
twitter is cyan
facebook is blue
your friends are the product
and so are you@lifning@cybre.space

It’d make a great hymn for decentral systems like the Fediverse or the Indieweb.

On Owning Data Apps Use and the IndieWeb by Jacky Alciné (v2.jacky.wtf)
So I came across this post about owning data from apps we use a lot. As I'm reading it, my head's bopping up and down with agreement - I strongly believe that data sovereignty is a important human right; especially with large companies actively using it to dismantle facets of society. In the post, t...
Adding Webmentions to My Website by Martin SchneiderMartin Schneider (martinschneider.me)
Webmention is a webstandard that enables websites to notify each other when content is mentioned, liked or linked. This is my little journey how I have implemented them into my website. One reason to write posts like this one is sharing my learnings and I’m looking forward to get as much feedback ...

So good to see the growing 🙂 Thanks for considering . It’s an ongoing challenge that probably never pays off for small private websites at all. Anyway, I’ve my disclaimer up – kindly provided by the WordPress plugin – so the only thing to cover are probably backfeed comments. Considering from what sites such backfeeds usually come from – and what privacy disclaimer they run – I’ll simply wait for the first request. Not that hard to print out or get rid of a bunch of table entries, no?

BTW: I couldn’t automatically parse your h-card because it’s not a child of the h-entry. See http://php.microformats.io/ for easier debug.
